FM has underestimated Maidenhead for years - they've had some players who've moved up the pyramid and had huge upgrades between games. I don't know why as they are inconsistent but always seem to do better in real life than in FM.

I'm very new to the game. How do you find players in the first season when you've got next to no scouting budget?

If you want the AM to use the players in the right positions without directly interfering you could add the “play in favoured position” promise when negotiating their contracts. Then the manager (Assistant Man.) has to follow the contractual obligations..?

What skin do you use?

Your "rant" about simulating/holidaying I completly back up. I've recently started simulating seasons rather than playing them as (because I have young children and a full time job) it'll take me the best part of a month to play just one season if I didn't, and as someone who enjoys the longer games it's the only way I can play it now. Personally I'd love it if there was a bit more flexibility with it too. Let's say where you set a "preferred XI" and then they are rotated out because of fitness etc. Rather than one player playing 60 games in a season because you've locked them in as a striker and the Assistant just mindlessly playing them.

This is great still. I started my own Glory Hunter in the same way and it is very good. Seeing the managers moving and you waiting for that perfect job is fun very good. Funny enough I had to spend a lot of time in England as well to win that FA Cup!

Use your fuckin brain. Create a formation that would make sense for this Denmark team. Then adapt its instructions and roles to the different opponents you meet. That way you have more chance winning it within the first 10 000 attemts that just spamming some pre-set tactics. Jesus... Also watch the games. It's a few games per tournament and it gives you a good idea of what works and what not. That's coming from soneone who won World cup 2018 with Bulgaria on FM15, and have rarely missed to overachieve in any FM from then on.

that 4-1-5 formation ive used a similer one in FM23 and it worked magic, i even used it in a retro save with Liverpool and a 41 yr old Keven keegan (i signed him from an Australian team lol) as SS who scored 15 goals lol

Should have switched picking first each time from bottom and top club as well. So you should have picked from Luton first and your dad first from Liverpool then switch again etc.

How do you win these games while simulating? I have tried it with Palace and my God, midtable all the time regardless of who I sign, no matter what tactic.
